Accessing Zoom AI Companion Licensing

Two steps to access AI Companion Licensing

Step 1 - Confirm your Licensed Zoom status

Zoom AI Companion appears only in accounts with a licensed version of Zoom. To check, log into zoom.wfu.edu and click on your profile icon in the upper right. Licensed accounts include a "LICENSED" label.

NOTE

WFU faculty, staff, and students are automatically provisioned a licensed version of Zoom when they sign in to zoom.wfu.edu. It is no longer required to submit a manual license request.

Step 2 - Enable AI Companion in your Zoom account

These features are disabled by default to respect your preferences around the use of AI. To opt in, enable AI Companion features. AI Companion settings are highly customizable and granular for your particular preferences around the use of these tools.

  • Log into Zoom with your WFU account.
  • Go to Settings and then the AI Companion tab.
  • Click the toggle next to a feature to enable or disable it.

Zoom AI Companion: features for your Zoom meetings

In-Meeting AI "catch-up" chat

AI Companion can answer your questions about a meeting in progress. If this capability is enabled by the host, just ask AI Companion for a summary of what’s happened so far, if your name was mentioned, or if there were any action items you missed. Meeting hosts have privacy settings to control whether they want participants to be able to ask questions about the meeting, including finding out about what happened before they joined. See more from Zoom on AI Companion.

Meeting Summary

During a live meeting, the host can enable Meeting Summary to automatically organize content into chapters and highlights, which can be shared and viewed by others.

Smart Recordings

View a "chapterized" recording with clip summaries to help you review exactly what you need quickly. Action items and a transcript accompany each recording. More from Zoom on Smart Recordings.

Meeting Coach

Grow skills in leading meetings and address blind spots with this helpful coaching feature. Meeting Coach gives hosts metrics about their talk-listen ratio, talk speed, filler words, patience, and shortest/longest spiel. Only hosts and admins with access to the recordings can view these metrics. Learn more about Meeting Coach from Zoom.
