Using Google Contacts at Wake Forest University

Our Wake Forest internal directory, Google Directory, is a handy tool for finding your contacts and managing projects you have with them. Whether you pull up a contact from the Google Side Panel in Docs, Mail, Sheets or Calendar, or when you browse the Wake Forest University internal directory at contacts.google.com/directory, each contact card will show you useful information, and this varies based on the role.

Student contact cards show select details from Banner ("WIN"), and, in the future, Workday Student

  • Name
  • Year of Study ("classification")
  • Program of Study ("major")
  • School
  • @wfu.edu email address
  • username
  • association (student, faculty, staff)
  • any additional information a student would like to add within myaccount.google.com/profile
  • photo, if the student has added this to their profile.

Faculty and Staff contact cardsĀ 

show select data from Workday:

  • Name
  • Title
  • Department
  • Organization
  • @wfu.edu email address
  • Wake Forest phone number and other contact information
  • Managers
  • Direct Reports
  • recent interactions (calendar, email) and shared files in Google Drive
  • additional details the contact wishes to share by adding to myaccount.google.com/profile
