Redeem your Wake Forest Technology Grant for your new WakeWare laptop

Undergraduate students receiving merit- or need-based financial aid awards, and certain athletic scholarships may be eligible for the Technology Grant ("tech grant"). In what can be thought of as a "laptop voucher," the tech grant covers the full cost of a WakeWare standard model laptop (Apple or Microsoft) online or in person at the Wake Forest Taylor Bookstore. The grant may be redeemed at any one time in a student’s first two years at Wake Forest.

1. Tech grant eligibility information can be found in a student's Wake Forest financial aid portal.

2. All WakeWare sales are managed by the Wake Forest bookstore, whether online or on campus. A tech grant may be put towards the purchase of any WakeWare model. Standard model purchases are fully covered by the tech grant (see below). Review the WakeWare models and add your choice to the cart.

3. You'll redeem your tech grand funds by purchasing your WakeWare laptop on the bookstore website. Here, we’ll use a WakeWare MacBook Air as an example. Each model will have a similar experience in checkout. Hover over the model you wish to purchase and select “ADD TO BAG”. 

3. Select VIEW BAG & CHECKOUT. For this process, do not add other items to your bag while redeeming your Technology Grant.
   

4. Review the Cart and select “CHECKOUT”.
   

5. You may “Create Account” with the bookstore or select “Continue as Guest.” After you fill out the required fields, select “PROCEED TO DELIVERY METHOD.”

6. Under Delivery Method, select “Pick Up (FREE)” if you plan to pick up your laptop at the bookstore or “Ship to an Address” if you wish to have the laptop shipped to your home (domestic shipping is typically included in the purchase cost). We suggest allowing up to three weeks for shipping, although actual delivery times are often shorter than this. Select “PROCEED TO PAYMENT METHOD”.

7. Under Payment, check the “Technology Grant Redemption." In the field that appears, enter your 8 digit Student ID (tip: if your ID is only 7 digits long, add a leading zero) and select “FIND ACCOUNTS.” Your WakeWare information will be loaded onto the screen. 

8. Check the “I agree to Terms & Conditions for this account” box before selecting “APPLY”. Make sure you see the WakeWare deduction* from the total before entering any credit card information. *Below is an example only of what you will see. The available credit will vary based on the standard WakeWare model selected

Once you click “APPLY”, you should see your balance applied to your bag total.

9. If you upgraded your laptop, select the “Credit / Debit Card” field, and enter your credit or debit card information to cover any upgrade balance. 

10. Select “PROCEED TO CONTACT INFORMATION”.

11. Enter your Contact Info and select Place Order.

    
    

    

Note: if a student ultimately does not attend Wake Forest, tech grant funds must be returned to Wake Forest so that another student may use them. By redeeming this grant, the student accepts these terms.
