eduroam

eduroam is the preferred and recommended wireless network for students, faculty, and staff with all capable devices. This network provides the best and most secure experience, with high speed connections, and access to network printing, library databases, course registration, and more. 


WFUwireless-legacy

WFUwireless-legacy is a network that may be used by students, faculty, and staff with older devices (using 2.4Ghz such as Raspberry Pi, iPhone 4s, and older). This network provides unrestricted bandwidth to campus and Internet services.

WFUguest

WFUguest is an open wireless network for our campus guests such as family and non-WFU friends who would like access to the Internet. WFUguest does not require a sponsor or a password. This option is not intended for use by our WFU students, faculty, and staff because access to internal campus network resources is restricted and slower network speeds will be observed on this network. 

Note that WFUguest is not available in the following locations:

  • LJVM Coliseum

  • Bridger Field House

  • Deacon Tower (BB&T Field)

  • Tennis Center

  • Brookstown Inn


WFUmydevices

WFUmydevices is the network that should be used to connect game consoles and other entertainment devices (such as Apple TV, XBox One, Playstation 4, Roku, Amazon Fire Stick, Nintendo DS, etc.) to the network. This network provides unlimited bandwidth. In order to use WFUmydevices, users should first:


IQGuest

IQGuest is an open wireless network for Wake Downtown guests who want quick and easy access to the Internet. IQGuest does not require a sponsor or a password. This option is not intended for use by our students, faculty, or staff because access to internal campus network resources is restricted and moderate bandwidth limitations are in place for this network.
