Setup Google 2-Step alternative
Before you travel abroad, it is highly recommended to prepare your WFU Google Account for use in a different country by setting up one or more Google 2-step Verification alternatives. The default authentication method for Google 2-Step Verification is an SMS/text message, however in most situations your US phone number will not work while you are abroad, potentially impeding your access to your account.
Alternative 2-Step methods most recommended for abroad (ranked):
- Google Authenticator App
- Google Prompt
- Backup Codes
